Download 72Mhz Radio Reference Chart as PDF

A simple online reference to convert the common US 72mhz frequency for transmission to channel ids.

This has always been helpful for me, primarily since my father has a couple of Esky HoneyBee Fixed Pitch helicopters, Version 3.  These little guys don’t use 2.4 Ghz Digital transmission, so when one of the local indoor flying centers asked what channel we were flying on, all my father could reply with was ’72 mhz’.  Little did we know at that time that the crystals in the receiver and transmitter were on a specific part of the 72mhz band, each segment was mapped to a channel number.

Now, we were also told by one of the gentlemen that runs the indoor center that we should have received some tags with the channel that came with the two Honeybees my father owns.  These tags are hung from the antenna or chart so other flyers know what channels to avoid.  Since 9 times out of 10 he’s the only one with a 72 mhz radio (most are on Spektrum 2.4 Ghz DSM), this hasn’t been an issue.  Regardless, we’ll have to create some makeshift tags at some point, as I later found out that they really don’t package tags much anymore, but still package tags if you are just buying a transmitter alone.

So, our newness to this hobby shined through that day.  Now we know better, and now we have… THE CHART.

Check the crystal reference on your receiver or transmitter to figure out what you’re packing.
