Spektrum DX6-i Dual Rate and Expo Video uploaded Bookmark and Share

Finally got this rendered last night. I swear…between using AVCHD editing tools and special effects composition work, sometimes I wonder where this project is taking me next!

Not to say this has been a bad experiment at all. I just wouldn’t have guessed when I started this site that I’d actually target the RC components and create all these videos and articles on them.

Hope you enjoy, and once I get the DX-7 video complete the third part of the series will have all four videos and associated text and images.

Hey Eric,

Thanks for these videos. I just got the DX6i and was really needing something to help me understand it better than the instruction booklet. This is great. I have the Vapor and Micro Cub and am looking forward to getting the new Sukhoi XP and Radian in the future. One question, do you have any recommended settings for a 3 channel plane like the Vapor? Keep up the good work and God bless!

We have a couple of Vapors as well, unfortunately the membrane has separated from the carbon fiber and they need repair, at least mine does. So don’t fly that thing in cold/cool temperatures, we think that’s what caused it to become just a bit brittle and separate for both mine and Pops’ independently.

As far as the settings on dual rate and expo, we found that the default rates were fine for us on the vapors, as it was some casual back of the yard spinning and flipping around.

Take your vapor out for a spin and get a feel for it on your DX6i. If it feels to you that perhaps you nose dive a bit too fast, then take the elevator down to a low rate of say, 80%. Same for the turns. Most of the time low and high rates only have to differ by 20-40%, and 10% increments/decrements are good to test out the feel of a craft as you change rates for a channel.

Hope that helps, let me know how it goes, and thanks for the compliments!
